Over the past 3 years I have had the opportunity to shoot with a lot of cameras. Of them, I have found my favorite to be the old 7D. Sure, its not full frame, doesn’t have a flip out screen, yet it still takes 1st in my mind.

Well kids, its arrived. Canon has announced the 1D X. This news is bittersweet. And here is why:

  • Full Frame Sensor = SWEET
  • Longer Record Time = Sweet
  • Timecode = Pretty Cool
  • More Audio Control Features = Sweet
  • Price Tag of $7000 = Bitter

So I am left with an even stronger desire to see a new 5D. Looks like we might get a few spec updates at least similar to this new 1D. Heres hoping.

Just the other day on twitter Sam Fack shared some pictures of a track he built for his Cinemover. I’ve been looking for something like this myself and was quite impressed with it. It looks like something that could easily be used with a couple light stands or tripods. Great job Sam!

Check out his tutorial below and a some footage he shot using it.
