Remember when the 5D Mark III came out and many of us said “Ah, well I’ll wait until the price drops before I get one” Well friends, that day is upon us. The 5D Mark III just dropped down to $3199 from the original $3499. Not bad, especially since we will have clean HDMI out on the mk3 in April. And the 5D Mark II can now be had for $1699 thats a long way from the original price of $2499. Hard to believe I bought a well used 5D2 for $1800 not long ago.

This is huge. Canon announced that they will be releasing a firmware update for the 5D Mark III that will allow a clean HDMI signal out of the camera. I am very curious to see how this will affect the sales of other low end Canon large sensor cameras like the C100.

Check out the press release for more information:

Gear is expensive. But I have found a few items that can be had for under $100 and put them into a list here. Do you know of some sub-$100 gear you don’t see in the list? Share it with us!
