DSLR Video Shooter is run by Caleb Pike and is dedicated to videographers and cinematographers alike who are striving to use DSLRs for quality storytelling.

This website is dedicated to revealing resources and techniques to use HD DSLRs to there most potential. This site is NOT a DSLR fanboy blog. HD DSLRs are nothing more than a tool, a small piece that in and of itself is nothing. But combined with knowledge and the art of storytelling it has the ability to capture truly beautiful images. So join me as we take these funky little cameras and make some films.

More About Caleb Pike.

Caleb Pike is a camera operator, editor, and podcaster based in Chicago IL. His experience branches from documentary and commercial, to film and educational material. In 2010 Caleb founded DSLR Video Shooter where he podcasts, writes reviews, and shares tools and techniques for filmmakers. Prior to shooting commercial work, Caleb spent 5 years studying web design, SEO, WordPress, and content creation methods.

Caleb is well versed in HDSLR production workflow, FCP Studio implementations, on-set data workflow, WordPress CMS, and web design.

Interests:
filmmaking, HDR photography, acoustic guitar, cinema optics.

Current areas of study:
cinematography, astronomy photography, optical/filter effects, and screen writing.
