Over the past 2 years I’ve come up with a couple tips for making using photography lenses for video easier. I would love to hear what you do to prep your lenses for video production.

    Hey Caleb,

What is it that made you decide to choose 77mm as your standard size?

Because most 24-70mm and 70-200mm range lenses use that size. If you pick a size too small you will get vignetting and other problems when you try to use a small filter with a larger sized lens.

when u say that u like zip tides cofus strips cause they are low profile your are not right …cause what happens with those zip tides …i get a very small travell on focus ring so u get a very small space in your lens for marks and that makes even more hard to get focus right …
that is why redrock micros are more big on diameter so u get more space in betting your focus marks …

Seems to work fine for me.

Would a nikon-canon lens adapter work for most non-ai lenses or are there big differences in the mounts?

  • http://dslrvideoshooter.com calebpike

Yes. I have only had a problem once with an adapter. But almost all AIS, AI and Non-AI can use the same adapter.

Can you tell me if you have tried that and if I am at a lower fstop it would affect how much light goes through the hole?

please email me back when you get some time…
