I Didn’t think much of the T3i until I held one in my hand. I still think the 60D is the best choice for a serious shooter. Although if the funds aren’t there, or you can put up with limited ISOs and WB this is the camera for you.

thanks for the review … good job! … so seems to be a nice lil DSLR, right ?!… but it also seems to me that the zoom option – even it might be helpful in some rare cases – is not a very useful killer feature at all (in the end)

Something to think about when weighing the option between the T3i and 60D for video are the 1/3 ISO increments that the 60D offers, especially if you are going to be using the just released Technicolor “CineStyle”, as they recommend shooting in ISO multiples of 160 (which the T3i doesn’t offer).

An example of why 160 ISO increments are recommended are best showed in this example: http://vimeo.com/23082874

Thanks for the review. Deciding between the 60D and the T3i and this is helping. Keep it up.

I’ve only played around with the T3i briefly, but like you mentioned, the first thing I noticed was no manual Kelvin Temp setting, so I manually tweaked the WB, with the WB correction feature and could pretty much dial in whatever temp look I wanted. I’m positive I rolled some video shots with this and replayed them to show the owner of that camera how he could dial in any WB. However, in your example, I don’t see that WB correction in the settings?

Are you referring to the Custom WB setting?

I used a VGA recorder. Their not cheap but I’ve had this one for a long time. SD only but it got the job done.
