I’ve been using some of this gear from 4 DSLR for a while now, thought I’d share it with you. They make 2 great accessories for the H4n and Manfrotto tripod heads.

Check them out at 4DSLR.com.

Nice review. The thread adapter is a great idea.

I’m baffled as to why Manfrotto wouldn’t naturally utilise a 1/4 20″ thread for the heads handle mounts. In the DSLR world of adaptability and modularity you’d think it’d seem like such an obvious choice.

I’m not sure I really am sold on the cradle, but I think I will pick up one of the adapters. I have always been annoyed that Manfrotto doesn’t use a 1/4 20 thread on their handles – that second spot is such a logical place to mount accessories.

This cradle is my savior.  I had over tightened my H4n onto a stand and it stripped the bolt on the bottom of my H4n.  I ended up sawing it off.  Since then I’ve been contemplating buying another H4n so I could mount it again on my rig.  Purchased one of the cradles last week and it saved me a couple hundred because I didn’t have to purchase another H4n.

The cradle is cool, but entirely to expensive for what it is.

I bought 2 of the 1/4-20 adapters from 4DSLR. The metal is a little on the cheap side. I overtightened one and it just broke off. I have the 2nd one but I don’t feel comfortable using it. I bought a manfrotto 577 quick release plate instead and added to that.
