The Digital Cinema Society recently hosted a HDSLR event in Hollywood where several experts shared their knowledge on using these cameras. You can view the Quick Time files on there website here.
Here is the event description:
HD DSLRs For Cinematography
This event was held in late March 2010 at Birns and Sayer in Hollywood. It features a special presentation by Scott Jo and Greg Salman comparing the plethora of Canon DSLR models that shoot HD, including step by step instruction on how to upgrade firmware to the camera. We also hear from Paolo Cascio, a Cinematographer who has embraced the use of the DSLR for several projects, as well as manufacturers who are offering film friendly support for shooting motion pictures with the DSLR. These include a presentation by Brian Valente of Redrock Micro covering handheld rigs, Ryan Avery of Schneider Optics on filtering considerations, and Tim Hunten of Sennheiser with some tips on sound recording. Special thanks to our volunteers Kyle Peters for shooting and to Art Freed and Eric Meier of Hot Pixel Post for handling post production.
