I was recently contacted by Ramzi Hogan about a project he filmed with a 7D on the back of a motorcycle. I really dig vintage bikes, so I thought I’d share his video and description with you guys.
From Ramzi:
I have been riding with Rockers & Gentlemen Motorbike Coalition for a couple years now and they have just been featured in Issue Nine of Iron & Air Magazine. I had planned to shoot the guys during a day ride in the canyons but things went another direction. After the long day of riding and filming and being harassed by the police for doing such, we called it quits and headed for bbq and beer. It was there that I thought of my own dwelling at the time, a gritty and desolate area of downtown Los Angeles near the fashion district. I knew the police would be less likely to hassle us and quickly jotted down a concept for the shoot. Armed with a Canon 7D, manual 50mm 1.4 and a monopod I began getting my setup shots for the scene that was to take place. When it came time for getting the guys in action there was only one choice. I strapped myself backwards to my motorcycle while employing a buddy to take over the steering. From there we began filming the different sections of the midnight joy ride, racing alongside them around corners into tight alleyways and blazing down stretches of fluorescent lit gloom. The industrial western is born!
