If you’ve been looking for a solid slider, but haven’t pulled the trigger on one, now is your chance to get on on the cheap. I had not heard much about Libec gear until close to NAB. I’m very interested in seeing their gear here at the show. One of their new offerings is the Libec ALLEX System. This is a Tripod/Head/Slider kit that makes using a tripod and slider together or separately a breeze. Also take note of how the camera is removed from the tripod. Thats HOT! The ALLEX System will be available in Augest of this year. Check out the video and details below.
Had some time to play with the Kamerar 47″ Slider and found it good. Great when you factor in the cost of only $150 for a 47″ slider! You can view all the different versions of the Kamerar sliders here.
- Adjustable feet
- Slider lock
- Long slider
- Can’t take a lot of weight
- Can be difficult to get smooth fast shots with a larger camera system.
Light DSLR setups. If you need a monitor, rods and/or matte box setup this probably isn’t the best slider for you.
This looks to be quick a bang-for-the-buck camera dolly. Looking forward to hearing more about this unit as they become available.
Check out these details on the Revolve Automated Motion system:
From the KickStarter Post:
A versatile and affordable motion control kit. Add precise automated movement to your camera slider or dolly for time-lapse or video.
Motion control systems give you precise motorized control of your camera moves, and can help you create absolutely stunning time-lapses and ultra smooth videos. But, these systems are normally bulky, complicated, and can cost thousands of dollars.
My goal was to create a versatile, portable, and extremely affordable motion control system, and I am proud to introduce the result: Revolve Automated Motion.
Revolve Automated Motion (or RAM for short) is a versatile motion control system for time-lapse and ultra smooth video. It can be used with any camera slider or with the Revolve Camera Dolly to create a wide variety of stunning footage! The kit adds precise and fully adjustable motorized control to your camera moves, and at an amazingly affordable price!
Finally a closer look at some Edelkrone slider footage! I can’t get over how clever this slider design is. Anyone think they will be getting one? Why/why not?
Remember the EZ Steady Stabilizer? Its creator Kyle Hart is releasing his next installment of rhino gear. The Rhino Slider. Remember the CineMover? That kick action dolly system I did an episode on a while back? Well its created J.G. Pasterjak is coming out with something new. I can’t tell you how excited I am about what he has put together.
Its called the CineMonster and you should check out his highly entertaining video where he demos this new piece of gear.
Preorders are through KickStarter so head over there are get in on the action!
Just a little iPhone video showing you what I used to shoot this little piece for my Cinegrain review.
I really love how compact you can get a 5n package. The DP4 is also perfect for this little setup.
Just the other day on twitter Sam Fack shared some pictures of a track he built for his Cinemover. I’ve been looking for something like this myself and was quite impressed with it. It looks like something that could easily be used with a couple light stands or tripods. Great job Sam!
Check out his tutorial below and a some footage he shot using it.
