I recently started using two cameras to film my podcasts and needed to rethink how I monitor them. I am aways striving to make things more efficient, so rather than mount each monitor separately, I built a rig to hold both monitors. The new setup allows me to remove the monitors with just one clamp. This makes packing up my podcast gear a breeze.
Dual Monitor Rig Parts
I was able to put this together with gear I had laying around so it didn’t cost me anything. You could probably get part way there with some random rigging parts. That said, here is the full list of what I used:
- 2x Swiss Rods
- 1x 15mm to female 1/4 20″ adapter
- 2x Female Pro Shoe adapter (a little pricy, but these are the strongest ones I’ve ever seen).
- 2x Hot shoe monitor adapter
- 1x Dinkum ActionPod Pro clamp
